More Planned Time

More planned time unlocks more unplanned time.

We drain our mental and physical energy by the constant need to routinize and stabilize our lives. In that quest, the volume of decisions we have to make ping our brain time and time again, extracting power and happiness and injecting fatigue and boredom. We crave routine and stability to keep the train moving forward, but we fear that we’ll transform into routine robots, crushing our ability to be adaptable and flexible. Our desire for comfort and reliability battles with our desire to be wild and carefree.

Instead of viewing our need for order as a competitor to our desire for some chaos, we should add more order to our lives to leave room for better chaos. When you add a little project management to your life, you can execute your daily to-dos with less struggle and leave more time for those items that don’t make the to-do list, like jumping in rain puddles, getting lost in the park, or enjoying an afternoon nap.

The more systems you build to swipe items off your list, the more time you free up to add adventure, creativity, spontaneity, or just finishing that book club read before your next meeting! My goal for you is to add those systems you need that are injected with sparkle and spice at the get-go. Add some sequins to your sequence.

Let’s start planning!
